Abstract
Neuropathy, or the impairment of nerve structures and function, is a common complication in diabetes
and affects up to one-third of patients. The most common manifestation is the loss of pain sensation
and this can lead to unrecognised trauma injuries and the development of ulceration. This article
looks at the aetiology of neuropathy and details management strategies.
