Bentley, Peter J. and Wakefield, Jonathan P. (1996) Overview of a Generic Evolutionary Design System. In: Proceedings of the 2nd On-line Workshop on Evolutionary Computation (WEC2), 4-22 March 1996, Nagoya University, Japan.
Abstract

This paper presents an overview of a generic evolutionary design system. The system uses a hybrid 'steady-state' multiobjective genetic algorithm with an explicit mapping stage between genotypes and phenotypes to evolve designs. The system evolves the geometries of a range of solid object designs from scratch. A selection of
evolved designs are presented.
