Abstract
Discusses the principles surrounding treatment of asylum claims based on sexual orientation and the difficulties facing such applicants. The article focuses on the judgments in X,Y, X v Minister voor Immigratie en Asiel (Directive 2004/83/EC Joined Cases C-119/12, C-200/12 and C/201/12 (ECJ) and A, B and C v Staatsecretaris van Veilgheid en Justitie (Joined Cases C-148/13, C-149/13, C-150/13)(ECJ).
