Abstract

In order to encourage greater peer involvement, help students practice higher order skills and provide richer feedback, peer assessment has been introduced in the assessment of oral presentations given by first year accountancy students. In order to ensure that feedback is provided quickly and with minimal administration, the process is conducted electronically with peers using an electronic assessment schedule to anonymously assess presentations. Following this, the tutor quickly collates the feedback and passes it on to presenters within 48 hours.
