Abstract

In this Letter, two different methods are proposed for the separation of transient components from the background noise that were recorded in the Watt balance experiments. The first is the Wavelet based Adaptive BiShrink Denoising method (WBSD). The other method is the Morphological Component Analysis (MCA), which is based on the nature that the transient events and the stationary noise have different morphological properties. The experiment results illustrate that both the WBSD method and the MCA method can successfully separate the transient events from the vibration signal
