Learning Styles and Personal Pedagogy in the Virtual Worlds of Learning

University education and student learning increasingly goes beyond traditional boundaries of education to include traditional campus learning provision through to loose collectives supporting informal learning in virtual worlds. Our focus is on the university student through their formal learning experience but also accepting the increasing importance of virtual worlds that for many is integral to daily social interaction and informal learning. Our research takes an holistic view of the University student through learning styles, associated cultural context, and the emerging implications to digital equity in virtual worlds . Dewey (1938) perspective on the planned or formal learning as being the 'continuity of experience' and this concept underpins our research focus in virtual worlds classrooms.
