Abstract
This paper addresses the lived experience of African Caribbean and mixed heritage youth in VET which has in recent years been an under-researched area. The study is an exploratory case study of an opportunistic sample of four young people from the north of England, aged 16-25, 1 male and 3 females. We set this preliminary study in its broader socio-economic context and draw on historical data to illustrate change and continuity in the processes we explore.
