Abstract
Drawing research from a hand painted textile archive.
The basis of this paper is to examine some short projects utilising and drawing from The Gleneden hand painted jacquard design archive undertaken by students of Textile Practice at the University of Huddersfield.
The purpose of this research is to discuss how small student projects may suggest methods of production that could inform the early stages of theoretical and investigative PhD research looking at possible interpretations and alternative end uses deriving from the same resource.
It will consider how an archive of material produced for one purpose could be redeveloped through drawing to extract value of contemporary significance.
