Abstract

Examines certain principles governing credibility assessments in asylum cases and discusses the cases of MN (Sri Lanka) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2014] EWCA Civ 1601 and KS (benefit of the doubt) [2014] UKUT 00552. Considers the difficulties asylum seekers face in establishing credibility within the hostile environment in which the law operates.
