Abstract
The Peace Challenge by Diane Hadwen and Ben Chalcraft, explores peace-making and peacemakers then and now. The focus is on individuals with a local Bradford connection, whose actions have had an impact for good locally, nationally and globally (such as William Forster, Richard Oastler and Margaret McMillan) with ideas for teaching and learning. It has a peer education element and encourages historical enquiry alongside active citizenship. Children are asked to consider the statement and question ‘This is what they did then. What can I do now?’ Designed particularly for key stage two, it is also possible to adapt this for older children. Produced and published by The Innovation and Cohesion Works
