Abstract

Brass Art: Freud’s House: The Double Mirror (2015) was commissioned by University of Salford’s Commission to Collect Programme and has been acquired by University of Salford for their collection.

Lindsay Taylor commissioned Brass Art to create this new digital commission, when she became collections curator in 2013. Brass Art have been working with the Freud Museum, London, under the auspices of Director Carol Seigel. The new work has been made with the assistance of programmer and theorist Spencer Roberts, and in collaboration with electro acoustic composer Monty Adkins.

Lindsay Taylor led the contemporary art programme at the Harris from 2004 – 2013. She successfully initiated and delivered a number of innovative and complex exhibitions and projects including: Paradise by Kultug Ataman (2008) Plastic Culture: Legacies of Pop (2009), Recent Findings: Simon Faithfull (2010), Piercing Brightness exhibition by Shezad Dawood (2011).
Lindsay was instrumental in the Digital Aesthetic Project and developed an expertise in commissioning and collecting digital art.
