trace.[instructions for mapping space]

‘trace.’ is an exhibition of maps and non-maps (drawings, films, photographs, texts) that emerge from an ad-hoc, multi- disciplinary research group formed to explore modes of mapping based on personal experience and memory. The group investigates movements such as walks, as means of enacting a sense of belonging and re-location. Central to the development of this research will be a series of dialogues and collaborations between the artists, and directly with different kinds of ‘public’, some encountered briefly and by chance, others via structured and lengthy interactions. These public encounters will take place on location during the research period, and within the gallery space during the exhibition.
