Roundtable discussion featuring Pier Vittorio Aureli, Alex Coles, Catharine Rossi and Verina Gfader. Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture, London. 12 December 2013.
The Italian Avant-Garde: 1968–1976 (Sternberg Press, 2013) is the first in the EP series, a new discursive platform. The Italian Avant-Garde emphasises the multiple correspondences between well-known radical art, architecture and design phenomena, figures such as Ettore Sottsass and Alessandro Mendini, and previously overlooked spaces, works, and performances, while also featuring newly commissioned interviews and essays by historians, curators, critics and practitioners. At this event the editors will be joined by one of the book’s contributors, Pier Vittorio Aureli, to shed new light on the era and discuss its complex legacy.
