Instead of exhibiting a series of ‘greatest hits’ in chronological order for this retrospective, at K21 Pardo designed a series of palapas (pavilion-like structures) to spatially orchestrate a broad selection of his works dating back to the early 1990s. In this way, what could have been a passive experience – the museum retrospective - was turned into a creative one as a new work was developed through the way the palapas choreographed the viewer through Pardo’s creative development.
