Abstract

An approximate theoretical analysis of the desorption rate/time (temperature) behaviour during tempering of a system in which desorption activation energy is a function of population is given. It is shown that several measures of this characteristic behaviour are available to allow evaluation or estimation of the desorption energy-population function and methods of distinguishing between such serial desorption processes and parallel desorption processes with distributed activation energies are outlined
