Abstract
Geoffrey Cox and filmmaker Keith Marley present a new documentary film, ‘a part of a greater whole: a film about Nice’(2010). The film is in part a homage to the City Symphonist filmmakers of the 1920s and especially Jean Vigo’s, ‘A Propos de Nice’ and Dziga Vertov’s, ‘Man with a Movie Camera’. It explores the importance and creative treatment of diegetic sound as well as the use of real-time video and audio software to manipulate the filmic materials. It is a prototype of a planned longer version.
