The prototype technology demonstrator, with all the technological aspects in the field of adaptive secondary mirrors is investigated in the Optical Science Laboratory (OSL). The theories relating to the replacement of actuators along with its influence functions by the finite element method are discussed. The statically tested adaptive systems along with their manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, reassembly, calibration techniques are described.
