Abstract
The effects of linear increment, linear decrement, Gray code and random mapping of data on the performance of a (12/Y) multiple pulse position modulation (PPM) system are presented. Simulations show that the Gray code is the most effective as it minimises the Hamming distance between adjacent multiple PPM words
