Abstract
Discusses renewed initiatives to introduce e-conveyancing, including a private scheme supported by the Law Society, and Law Commission reform proposals. Reviews the progress of other common law countries towards e-conveyances, and reflects on whether the time has come to implement such a system in the UK, whether doing so is likely to improve economic efficiency, and whether this would justify the costs involved in developing e-conveyancing.
