Abstract
The need and emergence of location based services have increased the demand for appropriate localisation methods. Ultra-wide band radios are attractive in such application due to their properties such as low multipath interference and high penetration. However, a number of challenges exist while designing an indoor localisation system including location errors caused by undetected direct path and multipath conditions. This paper reports our experiences in designing an indoor localisation method for 2D and 3D environments focussing in particular on undetected direct path conditions.
