Abstract
I write as chair of the British Association of Social Workers project group on assisted Reproduction (Progar). The main thrust of your article (Spain becomes the destination of choice for fertility tourists from Britain. May 12) seems to be that "the supply of donors has fallen dramatically in Britain in the last year". However, there is little formal evidence to support either the assertion that there has been a dramatic reduction in donors, or that any reduction is a consequence of last year's change in legislation requiring donors to agree to be identifiable to anyone conceived once they reach age 18.
