Simulated clinical practice and teaching strategies that use simulation have become an extensive part of the curriculum in pre-registration nurse education at the University of Huddersfield. The University has invested extensive resources in advanced technology to support the delivery of effective teaching simulation strategies. At Huddersfield simulated learning is used to enhance the theory delivered, allowing the students to incorporate the theory into practice within a safe clinical environment. As the developments had been implemented a large evaluation took place involving a mixed method approach. The data was collected using a questionnaire which was collated specifically for the use of evaluation of simulation across all nursing courses within the School of Human and Health Sciences at the University of Huddersfield. Ethical approval was given to the evaluation processes.
This conference provides us with the opportunity to present the findings of the evaluation for this group of pre registration nurses which provided some very interesting themes that will be discussed in detail during the presentation.
