Abstract

This lecture explores the subject of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) with a particular focus upon residential housing. Topics discussed include: legislation, regulation, policy and guidance within the planning system; the effectiveness of CPTED interventions and the impact upon offender decision making and the extent to which CPTED principles can be transferred to different countries, cultures and climates.
