Abstract
In this concluding article, we draw out some general points from the preceding articles in the series. We also seek to provide a rationale for why we think pharmacy practice researchers should engage with theory, drawing on our experience as researchers in the field. The subject of non-compliance is used as an example to illustrate how the different sociological theories discussed in the series might inform research questions in pharmacy practice research.
