Abstract

Salicylic acid corn plasters 40% w/w were used over different periods of time to determine the optimum duration of treatment for corn ablation. A placebo group served as control. The results indicate that, irrespective of regimen, all the active treatments were more effective in removing corns compared with the placebo, the differences being statistically significant.

Whilst the 7-day regimen achieved the highest percentage of corns removed, (79.4%), there was no significant difference in the efficacy of corn ablation between any of the treatment groups, including the shortest treatment of 3 days
