Abstract

A step-economical one-pot nucleophilic catalysis/thermal Claisen rearrangement protocol for the direct synthesis of Î±-formyl-Î±-allylacetates from allylic alcs. and activated alkynes has been developed. The product Î±-formyl-Î±-allylacetates were further reacted in situ to give either protected enol ethers or Î²-hydroxy-4-pentenoates. [on SciFinder(R)]
