Abstract
This article describes a two-day workshop designed around the needs of health visitors in respect of changes to their role. The focus of the training was on psychological interventions, including solution-focused approaches, the use of empathic relationships and cognitive behavioural approaches in their widest sense, and covered behavioural activation as well as working with negative thoughts. Evaluation at the end of the workshop and after returning to practice was positive, with some health visitors using the techniques taught.
