Unver, Ertu (1997) Design, development and manufacturing of a carbonmonoxide sensor device. [Artefact]
Abstract

A carbon monoxide (CO) detector is a device that detects the presence of the carbon monoxide gas in order to prevent carbon monoxide related poisoning. The project involved the 3D team at Haltech - UK to design a portable carbon monoxide detector from the concept stage to manufacture with a quantity of one million units for a client. After the concept approval, the Industrial Designer at Haltech collaborated with an Electronic Engineer for the design of electronics parts. Initially a working prototype was produced and tested for the requirements of the appropriate market including EU and north America. Testing for Product approval included functional and drop testing. The Haltech team supervised the tooling process and manufacturing of parts.
