Thompson, John L. (1984) The 'Windancer' case. Case Study. ECCH.
Abstract

The "Windancer" is a unique land yacht. The uniqueness is derived from a patented air wheel with special properties invented by the manufacturer. The case considers (i) in general terms the problems of product innovation for the very small company and (ii) in more specific terms the problem of marketing to a national (potentially international) leisure market with only extremely limited resources. A further consideration is the alternative (non-leisure) uses to which the wheel might be applied.
