Metadata only available from this repository.Abstract
The issue of ethics often hits the headlines when things go wrong. Professor Christopher Cowton’s lecture and research paper are not about the familiar “scandals” of companies like Enron, Worldcom and Parmalat. Instead, they focus on the question of ethics and what it means as a profession.
The lecture and paper considers the professional and practical challenges of promoting credible ethics in the accounting profession. It also discusses ways for meeting these challenges.
The lecture and paper (due to be published in the 2009 Accounting and Business Research Journal) were funded by the ICAEW’s charitable trusts.
