MacDonald, Juliet (2007) Delineate: an exhibition exploring line. [Show/Exhibition]
Abstract

'Delineate is an exhibition that explores boundary-making as it enables expressive and formal innovation. It is also an attempt to showcase a number of artists working across a wide range of mediums and processes, in which line becomes a particularly strong element. This is not to say that the subject matter in all of the works are informed by the element of line itself, only that what we believe to be strong examples of linearity follow through the selected works, whether within their concept, composition, process, or representation. In all of these works, from two-dimensional drawings to durational performances, we are interested in the way the presence of line traces the edges of thought and artistic impulse. In this way we have tried to present a collection of work in relation to the artists’ mapping of creative space through the use of line.'
