Abstract
Following the 2008 global economic downturn a new paradigm has emerged; one, which demands that UK Local Authorities deliver sustainable third-sector collaboration. This paper suggests that local authority social enterprise schemes acknowledge, develop and exploit project management assets, processes and practices as a strategic source of competitive advantage. Drawing from 70 questionnaires and 13 interviews across one North of England collective local authority social enterprise scheme; this research communicates: i) how certain project management resource endowments provide for degrees of competitive advantage; ii) how they deliver competitive advantage; and iii) what endowments predict project and firm level performance.
