Abstract
This paper focuses on the design of a high-intensity antineutrino source from the production and subsequent decay of 8Li. The Geant4 code is used to calculate the anti-neutrino flux that can be obtained along with the production of undesirable contaminants. We present in this paper the optimised design for the target, moderators, reflector and shielding. Engineering issues associated with this design are also discussed in this paper.
