Abstract
Despite their tantalisingly slow and graceful movements, these particular spiders are very efficient venomous carnivores. The effective hunting methods of Pholcus phalanioides can be directed towards a range of creatures. The proposal of this paper is to suggest that these spiders could be used as an effective method for controlling woodworm populations as a "green" alternative to the use of chemical treatments.
