The nurse bag used by community nurses throughout the world has remained impervious to design innovation for 150 years. To support a global paradigm shift, new ways of working and new types of equipment are necessary as the traditional nursing bag is now proven to be both dangerous and outdated. This award-winning 21st century nursing bag is designed and proven to improve service quality, optimize employee productivity and enhance patient safety performances through inflectional control design. This three year research programme, NHS at Home: Co-designing a 21st Century Nursing Bag was located at the Royal College of Art and sponsored by EPRSC and NHS East Riding of Yorkshire.
