Southern, Jen (2004) Dynamic Multi-User GPS Drawing Tool for Participatory Exhibitions. [Unpublished]. (Unpublished)
Abstract

This research will develop an exhibition tool that uses location data for dynamic, multi-user, collaborative drawing.

Using global positioning system (GPS) technology via mobile phones, this project connects individual users to a web site, and to each other. This enables them to make collaborative drawings through their own physical movement, whether they are in the same local area, or on distant continents.

These collaborative GPS drawings will be viewed live on a website, or projected into a gallery space, where user choice or live XML feeds of weather, current events or pollution data can be used to modify line, colour, thickness and opacity.
