Thompson, John L. (1983) Dearne Valley Foundry. Case Study. ECCH.
Metadata only available from this repository.Abstract
Dearne Valley Foundry's parent company is in receivership. The foundry's managing director is convinced his company is potentially viable despite the general recession in the foundry industry. The case looks at the decision he faces: whether or not to try and raise money to facilitate a management buy out. The short follow up case (383-012-1) considers the situation immediately following the buy out. Useful for both small business and business policy courses; and with some relevance on more specialist finance courses.
