Metadata only available from this repository.Abstract
This case study looks at how Thorn EMI was changed from a relatively diverse manufacturing and service business into a more focused service organisation over a ten year period. The case examines the relative success and the key success factors for the company's two core businesses, music and rentals. The role of the company's strategic leadership is examined. The case opens a discussion on what might happen to Thorn EMI in the future. It finishes with the situation at the end of 1995, prior to the company being split into two separate businesses in August 1996.
