Abstract
Back pain remains a problem for all sectors of society. lt is costly for industry in terms of lost work time, and for healthcare services in terms of investigations and treatment - and those costs are huge. lt is, of course, also a pain for the individual concerned. But who is that individual? Well, it is most of us in fact - at some time. Professor Kim Burton discusses the issues.
