Abstract

The synthesis of a functionalised bis-macrocyclic ligand (L1) is described together with the di-metallic LnIII complexes, Ln2-L1 (Ln = GdIII, EuIII). Luminescence and proton NMRD measurements show the complexes display differentiated responses to Cu(II) and Hg(II)
