Abstract
Acupuncture has an extensive history in China and other Asian countries where it has been practiced for thousands of years.
In the general medical literature, the effectiveness of acupuncture has been investigated for numerous diseases and conditions.
Since 1998 acupuncture interventions have been featured in the Cochrane Library.
