| Abstract: | "The Rose Consort combines an entrancing ear for line and texture with great beauty of sound and suppleness of phrase, transporting us at once back to an era which gave a premium to grace, refinement, and civilised discourse", said CD Review. The programme we have chosen for the consort to perform is a series of dramatic songs from Elizabethan plays interspersed with dances and fantasias from Byrd, Tomkins and their contemporaries. For this they are joined by Katherine King, Mezzo-Soprano. |
