Abstract
At the 2006 PALA conference in Finland we ran a workshop in which we asked participants to read and interpret two poems – ‘Mittens’ by Peter Sansom, and ‘Of Mere Being’ by Wallace Stevens. Our aim was to investigate a number of questions concerning the nature of interpretation. These included:
