Gifford, Chris (2004) Embedding Citizenship in the Undergraduate Sociology Curriculum. Project Report. The Higher Education Adacemy, Buckinghamshire. (Unpublished)Metadata only available from this repository.
In schools and universities we have witnessed the development of policies designed to develop and encourage active citizenship. This report outlines the findings from a project on citizenship education that involved undergraduate students and school pupils. The projects aim was to identify ways of developing a citizenship curriculum at undergraduate level. This culminated in the validation and delivery of a module that saw 10 undergraduate students contributing to the citizenship curriculum at two secondary schools in High Wycombe. The students were able to explore sociological dimensions of citizenship education within a practical context. This proved to be an innovative project that offered a very valuable academic and practical experience for the students.
