Abstract

Preliminary evidence of conceptual overlap of servant leadership and an ethical care orientation in business leaders’ espoused theories is provided via results of an unobtrusive study. The presentation reports on findings derived by employing content analysis method to prominent women business leaders’ epideictic rhetoric. Twenty-five commencement addresses delivered at American universities by female executives from the Fortune 1000 and Fortune Power 50 lists were analysed. Implications to the development of women in business leadership and gender-integrative models of leadership are offered.
