Abstract
A novel technique for extending the bandwidth of a transit time limited pin photodiode is presented that deliberately introduces peaking in the frequency response of the following preamplifier to compensate for the photodiode. This method has increased the bandwidth of a particular large-area detector from 48 to 125 MHz.
