Abstract

wo stage two substrate fermentation of 1,3-propanediol by Klebsiella pneumoniae was studied. The fermentation results showed that the cell and 1,3-propanediol concentrations increased to OD650 9.37 and 50.16 g/L respectively. The 1,3-propanediol productivity of 0.836 g/(Lh) was achieved, which is increased by 45% than the conventional anaerobic fermentation.
