Abstract

The potential for interference between nominally independent cofrequency communications systems due to non-standard atmospheric conditions has been of increasing concern to the communications engineering community. Bistatic hydrometeor scatter is one of the mechanisms which, at microwave frequencies, can lead to such interference. The paper describes a 10 GHz, 15.5 km microwave link which has been designed and constructed for the specific purpose of investigating hydrometeor bistatic scatter
