Abstract
This article outlines the impact, merits and challenges of service users’ and carers’ contributions to learning disability nurse training, and the practical considerations of such involvement. Service users and carers can be involved in student selection and teaching, and in healthcare delivery policy, curriculum planning, training programme development teaching, placement, assessments and final examinations.
