Abstract
Delirium, also known as acute confusional state, is relatively common in physically ill old people. Often undetected, practitioner awareness and alertness is key. In this article, Professors John Wattis and Stephen Curran discuss the experience, detection, differential diagnosis and practical management of delirium.
